2010 Silent Auction - Invitation to Local Artists

 

 

 

Action-Logement / Action Housing's 6th Annual Benefit Cocktail

Tuesday, September 28, 2010, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Jean Pigott Hall, Ottawa City Hall
110 Laurier Avenue

 

Objectives

 

  • To generate revenues (50% of the funds will go to the artist and 50% will go to Action-Logement / Action Housing)
  • To promote local artists
  • To sensitize participants to the challenges related to housing

 

Selection Criterias

 

  • Priority is given to artists who have experienced or who are currently experiencing homelessness
  • On-site set up should be simple
  • Art should have a homelessness and/or housing theme (an asset)

 

Artist's Responsabilities

 

  • To submit art work in the selection process
  • To bring art work to the meeting room on the morning of the Cocktail and recover them the same evening
  • To complete all necessary forms

 

Action-Logement / Action Housing's Responsabilities

 

  • To identify local artists
  • To collect forms
  • To meet potential artists to view their art work
  • To confirm the selection of art work
  • To promote the selected artists and art work through various means
  • To greet artists on-site and help them set up

 

Deadline

 

  • Meet the artists from June 1st to June 16th
  • Presentation of works (photos) to the Organizing Committee on June 18th
  • Selection of works - June 18th
