Ottawa - June 3rd 2011: Action-Logement/Action Housing, a not-for-profit organisation that has dedicated itself for over 20 years in helping low-income residents with housing-related issues, is taking advantage of the City of Ottawa’s “Community Hub” located at the Social Services Centre at 2020 Walkley Road. The “Community Hub” allows community agencies to work closely with Ontario Works staff to provide “one stop” services for mutual Ontario Works/ODSP and low income community clients living in the south end of the city.
This initiative is a pilot project which aims to regroup the essential services already offered at the Social Services Centre South with those offered by a community organization such as Action Housing.
Beginning on June 2nd, a housing case worker will be on site Mondays and Thursdays to answer questions and help community members with housing searches and any issues relating to their current housing situation.
