RONALD TOURIGNY GIVES A HAND TO

ACTION-LOGEMENT /ACTION HOUSING

For Immediate Release

Ottawa, March 4, 2011: To continue to raise funds to better serve the community, Action-Logement/Action Housing is organizing, on Thursday, September 29, 2011, its 7th Annual Benefit Cocktail.

Ronald Tourigny, President of the Caisse populaire Trilllium, graciously accepted the honorary presidency of the 7th Benefit Cocktail Action Housing / Housing Action.

According to Mr. Tourigny: "At the beginning of the last century, Alphonse Desjardins, created the movement that bears his name in order to help those who live in poverty. This was the beginning of the largest financial cooperative group in Canada. It's the same gesture that Action Housing is committed to: finding collaborators and raising funds that will enable poor families to live in safe and affordable homes. For the past few years, we have been supporting Action Housing because we believe that their mandate to find housing for the poor is not only laudable but it is a necessity. "

Originally from Sudbury, Mr. Ronald Tourigny had a distinguished career in education. Then, when he retired, he was elected as a director at the AGM of the Caisse populaire Trillium in 2004.

It is with pride that Action-Logement / Housing Action welcomes Mr. Ronald Tourigny as honorary president of its 7th Annual Benefit Cocktail. This cocktail will attract over 200 people including politicians, businesswoman and businessmen, who become, every year, more aware of the issue of housing and supporting Action Housing's mission.

For informatiion, please communicate with Denise Lemire at 613-749-5975, ext. 202 or denise@documentsetc.ca.
