Our Team

Nathalie

Since 2022, Nathalie has served as the Executive Director of Action-Logement, with a career dedicated to community advocacy and social support. As co-founder of Helping with Furniture (HWF), an organization that has supported more than 4,351 individuals and families in Ottawa, she oversees strategic development and volunteer management. A former Early Childhood Educator, Nathalie is recognized for creating educational programs and supporting vulnerable communities. Bilingual and deeply committed to community service, she has received several distinctions for her work, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the United Way Community Builder Award.

Yarlie

Yarlie is an experienced professional in legal and social support, with extensive expertise as a paralegal since 2013 and as a Housing Advisor at Action Logement since 2005. Deeply committed to her community, she volunteers with several organizations supporting women in need and single-parent families.

Alida

Alida is an experienced Housing Advisor in Ottawa, specializing in supporting low-income individuals and survivors of abuse. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Ottawa and a diploma in Special Education Techniques from La Cité Collégiale, and has strong expertise in tenant rights advocacy and access to social housing.

Multilingual, she speaks French, English, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, and Swahili, which strengthens her commitment to inclusion and accessibility. She is recognized for her empathy, versatility, and leadership.

Chantal

Chantal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, with a concentration in Psychology, from the University of Ottawa, as well as a Social Work diploma from La Cité Collégiale.

Fully bilingual, she has been working as a Housing Advisor at Action Logement since 2011. In her role, she supports clients in navigating the housing system, provides mediation between tenants and landlords, and represents clients before the Landlord and Tenant Board.

Previously, she worked in crisis intervention at the Ottawa Withdrawal Management Centre, as well as within child and family support services.

Oualid

Oualid has been serving as Project Manager for the Homelessness Prevention Community Partnership program at Action Logement for the past eight months. With 15 years of experience in legal consulting and advisory services, he has worked with consulting firms and with the CDG Group in Morocco.

He holds a Doctorate in Law as well as several degrees in Business Law and Public Management, and has developed strong expertise in real estate law and legal risk management. Recognized for his dedication to client advocacy and his support of colleagues, he has also contributed to teaching and training initiatives.

Laurianne

Laurianne is a dedicated housing caseworker with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the Université du Québec à Rimouski. She is passionate about social justice and promoting the dignity of every person. Over the years, she has gained experience supporting individuals facing a range of challenges, including homelessness, poverty, mental health issues, and substance use. She has developed her skills through internships and professional experience with non-profit organizations. Bilingual in French and English, Laurianne is committed to advocating for people’s rights and supporting them in ways that help improve their quality of life.

Anne J

Anne is a dedicated professional with over 10 years of experience in the housing, administration, and social services sectors. Bilingual in French and English, she is committed to serving her community by providing effective solutions and consistent support.

Drawing on her experience in housing administration at the Ottawa Community Housing Corporation, Anne has demonstrated strong expertise in rent administration, customer service, and client support. She holds a diploma in Social Sciences from the University of Ottawa and a diploma in Social Work from La Cité Collégiale.

Noureddine

Noureddine is a Housing Advisor at Action Logement, where he supports vulnerable households in finding sustainable housing solutions. Committed to the Ottawa community, he adopts an approach centered on dignity, autonomy, and inclusion.

Trilingual in French, English, and Arabic, he provides tailored support—particularly to Arabic-speaking clients—to facilitate their access to information and services. Through his active listening and professionalism, he actively contributes to promoting equitable access to housing

Maya

Maya, Operations Coordinator at Action Logement, is a cornerstone of the team, bringing over 30 years of community experience and six years with the organization. As the first point of contact for clients, she excels in reception and support, consistently going above and beyond in her role. Maya is also an invaluable support to her colleagues and helps create a welcoming and positive work environment — even brightening the office with her plants.

Steffie

Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Laurentian University in Sudbury, she has been working as a frontline housing worker since 2022, providing reception, listening, and support to individuals in vulnerable and challenging situations. She gained one year of experience in the homelessness sector at the Greater Sudbury Community Health Centre, as well as three years with Action Logement. She speaks French, English, and Kirundi.

Lootchyna

Lootchyna Féquière is a Social Work student at La Cité College and works as a Front Desk Agent at Action Logement, where she supports clients by assessing their needs, maintaining confidential records, and referring them to appropriate community resources. Trilingual in French, English, and Haitian Creole, she brings strong customer service and teamwork experience gained in dynamic environments. Dedicated and motivated, she also volunteers with Action Logement and Helping With Furniture, demonstrating her empathy and strong community involvement.

Mawussi

Mawussi is a Social Service Worker student at La Cité College and currently works as an Intake Worker at Action Logement, where she supports clients in their processes and connects them with appropriate resources. With experience in early childhood education and community support, she has also volunteered with Action Logement and Helping With Furniture. Empathetic, organized, and committed, she uses her skills to support families and individuals seeking assistance.

Arlette

Arlette is an experienced professional in project management and administration. She currently works as a Housing Search Worker at Action Logement, where she supports vulnerable clients in accessing housing, coordinates a team of volunteers, and oversees the administrative and operational follow-up of cases.

With over 15 years of professional experience in Benin, including work at the National Assembly and within various community and cooperation organizations, she has developed strong expertise in planning, monitoring and evaluation, and partnership management. Actively engaged in community life, she is also a member of Junior Chamber International and initiatives promoting women’s leadership and youth empowerment.
